Twitch Drops are in-game rewards you earn just by watching participating streams while your Twitch and Rockstar accounts are linked. No clicking, no codes, no purchase, just watch time. This guide explains exactly how Drops work, how to get your accounts linked today, and how to claim rewards the moment a campaign goes live. One thing up front: no GTA 6 specific Drops campaign has been announced by Rockstar. We teach the mechanic using Rockstar's documented GTA Online Drops flow, which is well established, and we will update this page the instant a GTA 6 campaign is confirmed. Leak / rumour (any GTA 6 Drops campaign is unconfirmed until Rockstar says so)
How Twitch Drops work
Drops are unlocked by watch time. While you are signed in and your accounts are linked, watching an eligible stream quietly accrues progress toward a reward. Hit the required watch-time milestone, usually counted in minutes, and the Drop becomes claimable. You then claim it from your Drops Inventory, and it appears in the game.
A few rules are worth knowing before any campaign starts:
- Watch time must be on a participating channel. A stream has to be tagged Drops Enabled for the time to count.
- Progress is per campaign, not per channel. You can usually switch between eligible streams and keep accumulating, so you are not locked to one creator.
- You must claim within the window. Rewards do not always auto-grant. Get into the habit of checking your Drops Inventory.
Step by step: link Twitch to your Rockstar account
This is the part you can and should do now, well before launch, so you are ready on day one. The documented flow is:
- Create or sign in to a Twitch account at twitch.tv.
- Sign in to your Rockstar Games account, or create one if you have never made one.
- Open your Rockstar account's linked-accounts or connections page and connect Twitch.
- Confirm the connection from the Twitch side when prompted.
- Verify both accounts show as linked. That green light is what makes future Drops count automatically.
The interactive checklist on the homepage walks through these same steps and saves your progress on your device only, no extra account needed. Tick each box as you go and it remembers where you left off.
Finding Drops Enabled streams
Once a campaign is live, eligible streams are flagged Drops Enabled in their stream information. You find them two ways: browse the game's Twitch category and look for the tag, or follow the campaign details Rockstar publishes, which usually list participating channels and the rewards on offer. Until a GTA 6 campaign exists, there are no GTA 6 Drops Enabled streams to find, and any list claiming otherwise is unverified.
Claiming from your Drops Inventory
When you reach a milestone, open Drops Inventory from your Twitch account menu. Claimable Drops show a Claim button. After claiming, the reward is delivered into the linked game account, sometimes instantly, sometimes after you next launch the game. If a Drop is not showing in-game, confirm your accounts are still linked and that you claimed before the campaign's deadline.
Is a GTA 6 Drops campaign confirmed?
Not as of 25 October 2026, and this matters. We checked Rockstar's Newswire, the Launch Trailer page published on 15 October and the pre-order details, and none of them mention Twitch Drops for GTA 6. The bonuses Rockstar has announced are store-based instead: the Vintage Vice City Pack for orders and purchases before 20 November 2026, plus a free month of GTA+ for digital orders. Rockstar has run Drops for GTA Online, so the system is familiar and the setup steps above will almost certainly carry over. But a GTA 6 Drops campaign, including any specific rewards, dates or participating streamers, has not been announced. Leak / rumour Treat every GTA 6 Drops rumour, reward leak or "confirmed schedule" you see circulating as unverified until it appears on Rockstar's official channels. Getting your accounts linked now costs nothing and means you are ready the moment anything real is announced.
How to check for yourself
- Twitch's own campaign list. Signed in on Twitch, open the Drops page from your account menu (twitch.tv/drops/campaigns). Every live and upcoming campaign is listed there with its game, dates and rewards. If Grand Theft Auto VI is not on it, there is no campaign.
- Rockstar Newswire. Rockstar announces GTA Online Drops in its weekly posts on rockstargames.com/newswire, so a GTA 6 campaign would almost certainly be announced the same way.
- The stream itself. A participating stream shows a "Drops Enabled" tag. A streamer's title alone ("DROPS ON!") is not proof.
We walk through each check, and what Rockstar offers instead, in our Drops status check of 25 October 2026.
